A Christmas Carol

On the 12th December 2024, we welcomed the Quantum Theatre Group to perform A Christmas Carol for our Year 7 students. The actors brought the text to life and heralded the arrival of Christmas as only Charles Dickens can. Here’s what some of our students had to say:

“My favourite part was when Marley's ghost scared Scrooge. I think that the entire stave 4 was very accurate to the book!” - Junior Read

“My favourite part was when Scrooge started whipping the singers off the porch!” - Simon Yakubu

“My favourite part was when Jacob Marley's ghost kept shouting at Scrooge and scaring him. I think the closest (to the text) part was when the ghost of Christmas yet to come appeared.” - Corey-Jake Flavin-Coates

It was so good and I loved the singing of ‘Joy to the World’ and mostly the slamming (sound effect) and how Scrooge was scared in the entire play. It was lovely. We read stave 4 and this was the closest I have watched.” - Agnessa Ehimare
